Interview process
- Online assessment — Sometimes an OA with case + writing tasks. Not always required for lateral hires.
- Recruiter screen — 30 min. Fit, LPs (Leadership Principles) briefing.
- Written case — 1-6 pager style. Amazon PMs write, not deck. Practise the narrative form.
- Loop of 4-5 interviews — Each interviewer owns 2-3 LPs. Every answer must be STAR + tied to a specific LP.
- Bar raiser — Non-team senior interviewer. Can single-handedly veto the offer. Expect the toughest behavioural drilling of the loop.
What Amazon looks for
- Explicit mapping of every story to a Leadership Principle.
- Written communication — clear, dense, narrative-form.
- Data-backed decisions, comfort with dive-deep questions.
- Customer obsession, expressed through specific customer research.
- Ownership stories where you delivered under constraint.
